A very common type of alarm clock is the clock radio. Some would say that the clock radio is for people who like to get a jump up and out of bed in the morning. Having a radio turning on to wake you up is really a big jump on the day. Tuned to your favorite station, whether for the news, talk or music, it sets the tone for day.
The beauty of the clock radio is the seamless integration of two devices: a radio and an alarm clock. It may not be the best radio as it’s usually not hi-fidelity. But the only thing it needs to do is pick up broadcasts and blare it out loud. In terms of the clock, as long as it’s powered (either with a battery or electricity) it should work fine and give off the alarm on schedule.
